Hermes

A personal assistant agent, run privately by one person.

Hermes is a self-hosted assistant that its owner runs on their own hardware. It is not a product, not a service, and not available to sign up for. It has exactly one user: its operator.

What it does

Google account access

Hermes connects to its operator's own Google account using OAuth. It never accesses anyone else's account, and it cannot — there is no sign-up, no multi-user mode, and no shared deployment.

Notably, Hermes is not granted permission to send email on the operator's behalf. It prepares drafts; a human sends them. It also cannot permanently delete mail or change mail settings such as filters or forwarding.
